Fluffy Rainbow Dust
Making a plush felt rainbow is something I have wanted to work on for ages! I have made a small one as a keyring for myself - and I ♥ IT! So a first birthday present for a special little girl seemed like a good opportunity to make some rainbow room magic ; )
It all started off going well, recycled a cereal box into a rainbow pattern and cut out all the pieces sew them all together and a little pink heart for my signature - but then I started choking on fluffy rainbow dust and my sewing machine started eating the felt. I wasn't going to be beaten so I unpicked stitches and went to bed so i would be ready to get back to it today when i felt fresh!
Well I havn't felt very fresh today and my cheeky little daughter nicked a sweet from the shop - THEN nicked some bias binding from the fabric shop !!!! I don't think she really knew what she was doing as she is only 3 but it was a bit embarrassing, and it has just been one of those funny days ....................... But I had a rainbow to make so i cleaned my sewing machine experimented with the tension and persevered until I made the rainbow. I was so happy, it wasn't perfect but it was lovely and THEN I noticed it had a hole on the seam where the felt must have been weakened from, all that sewing and unpicking and sewing and unpicking and now I think its unfixable and I will have to start all again : (
Thats my love hate relationship with sewing machines - and hey it can't always go to plan making rainbows!!
* Don't forget my giveaway will be drawn tomorrow at 10am GMT*

Wonderwool was Wonderful!
We had a wonderful time at Wonderwool Wales. After a lovely journey down on friday stopping at some lovely places along the way we found a great campsite right by the river in Buith Wells. Rio played with another little girl we all enjoyed our dinner al fresco with a fab view. We were all so excited we were awake at 6am!
I made this photo mosaic using some of my highlights from the show, although I wish I had taken alot more photos! There was some great supplies, some cute sheep, alpacas and rabbits and loads of lovely knit, weave, felt & crochet. the whole show was so colourful and I just love to be in that creative atmoshere full of people sharing a love of all things fluffy!
These are the goodies I purchased, some lovely yarns, sari silk and some unusual fibres for adding to my felt! I ate all the yummy food we purchased from the food show - Mid Wales Mouthful which runs alongside Wonderwool : )
The total highlight was my daughter being asked to join the catwalk show. We had both received so many compliments all day on her "Anni Hat" and my "Rainbow Bubbles" necklace so it was so amazing that she went on stage showing off my work and my friends crochet hat - She was so COOL!!

World Lasagne Day
I don't know if there is really a 'World Lasagne Day' but for us it started as a joke with friends and now we celebrate every year usually on the 10th of april, this year Easter got in the way so we celebrated this weekend!! And look at that lasagne - it was delicious. I made tiramisu, which is one of my favourite desserts and it's so good homemade from scratch!!
It was a perfect weekend and the weather was glorious. The girls played in the sun, and in the new hot tub our friends have just got - wow!! Above is the view from it and this is me enjoying it with a glass of bubbly - I didn't ever want to get out!

Felted Bangles
YEAH!! Second attempt at the rainbow bangles and I cracked it! I still have to figure what to make with the others - thinking along the lines of a seriously big rainbowtastic neckpiece!
I really have spent every spare minute felting bracelets and photographing them over the last week. My daughter keeps asking me for some too, everytime she sees me working " are you making that for me? " bless. I will try and make her a set as an Easter present.
I made this fab photo mosaic using fdsflickrtoys I wanted to show some mixing & matching of the felted bracelets. It's so much fun to match them to outfits and moods!!

......a million bracelets later!
I have had lots of compliments on my felted bracelets just lately, and quite honestly I love them! I never get on well with jewellery it always make me feel a little off balance, but these wool & silk bangles are so light, comfy and practical I hardly take them off. So today I set about making as many as I could. I started off with an idea for a rainbow one, which is the fluff in the photo above, but unfortunatly fitting all those colours in made them a bit long, so will have to think of another project for those and try again. I managed to get blue, red & yellow done, they look great here drying on a tea towel in the window.
