New Textile Collages

I have had a huge tidy up of my workspace,
I'm not a great fan of tidying but it was great to sort out my stash of fabrics,
felt, trims and ribbons. Best of all it was sooooo inspiring!!

I gathered all my best, most rainbowy bits bits and bobs and a nice little blank canvas to work on.
*Look away now if you are one of those people who don't like animals near work places

This super cute kitten *appeared* in my garden a few days ago, and is following me round like a shadow! It was desperate to get in on the rainbow making action!! had to get a photo of it before it was banished  : )

So lots of cutting a sewing were done, and I love the results. I will be working on a lot more textile collages over the winter.

Live for Today!

I love positive quotes, so I thought I would try my hand at using one of my own photos with these words. 

The photo of my hanging hearts was taken at Healing Ibiza at Atzaro, against a perfect Ibiza blue sky!  Not too bad for my first try - what do you think?

Felted Art - With Added Positiveness

 Just wanted to share a couple of new felt canvases I have made - both with added positiveness!! They are both made from the same piece of rainbow felt, which is mainly Merino wool, but full of added sparkles, silk fibres, ribbons and yarns. They were then stitched in gold thread, one with "all you need is love" and the other with "live the life you love" two of my favourite affirmations.

I love positive words and quotes and really want to start collecting some pieces of art with lovely words (better start writing that Christmas list!) 
 

I have a board on Pinterest called lets get positive, I love...... Pinterest it's super addictive!

 I like to share a positive quote on my facebook page on monday mornings, it helps me start the week with positive words and I hope it helps other people get in a good frame of mind too : )

Fab Flea Markets

I've had a wonderful weekend mainly full of Flea market shopping - my favourite! I found all these lovely woolen jumpers which will be felted and upcycled into something fab like this cloud pillow, one I made from my last batch of woolen jumpers, some funky handmade felt and fringe trim.

Ok, I did buy a few things for me...the jumper at the top of the pile is mine and I managed to grab myself a wonderful pair of fringed ankle boots, well it is getting a bit autumnal here : )

For April, For Machynlleth.

This isn't going to be easy to write which is why it's taken me till now, but today the day of April's funeral seems like the right time.

I made this last year, when the peaceful community I had just moved away from.... the place I called home for the previous ten years was rocked by the disappearance of a beautiful five year old girl.

Being thousands of miles away I couldn't join my friends in the search, so we lit candles, prayed and well.... I made this. I wanted to represent the community coming together searching, I'm not going to explain anymore about it than that and I wish the story had a happy ending.

 

Today I wish peace to April's family and to Machynlleth xxx



Live The Life You Love

I made this felt painting earlier in the year and I sold it so quick I didn't get round to taking any photos of it....and I have been a bit gutted since as I really loved it (not about selling it, that bit was great but the no photos : ( silly me  )

So I was super relieved this morning when I might of been moaning a little bit to my other half, and he told me he had some on his phone....Hooray thank you Mr Snap Happy. Normally I'm telling him off for taking TOOOOO many photos!

He even had these of me making it. It was inspired by the amazing sunset colours which were wet felted. Then the wonderful words to live by "Live the life you love" were needle felted on in sushine yellows and oranges. It was then stretched on a canvas frame.

I will be making more like this, as I think its great to have positive words around you.

Making Rainbow Mobiles

If you follow me on Facebook you'll know I've been working on rainbow mobiles recently.

I made the one above 3 years ago as a custom order for a lovely customer and since then I have been trying to design one to make available in my Etsy shop, I have had many requests for them and have a made a few others but never managed to get round to getting one in the shop.

Yesterday I spent the WHOLE day working on this, which is gorgeous if I do say so myself!!! But its huge.... too big for the average rainbow lover. And too complicated I just can't get it right, so back to the drawing board AGAIN!!

And hoorah I made one, a lovely plush rainbow with a shower of blue raindrops and not too big and not too complicated!!

BUT I do want to make one with clouds too so will be trying to design another one too and hoping that it doesn't take me three years this time - but hey good things are worth waiting for right??

 

Sunset Collection

Living in Ibiza, it's hard not to be impressed by the amazing sunsets.

I am finding them a huge inspriration, every day before the sun sets there is such a magical light and then comes the colours - thank you nature for your wonderful colourful creativity.

I am working on felted sunset paintings.

 Mini pieces of art, these felted sunsets in pendant trays.

And some new felted bangles in colours inspired by the sunsets.

Urban In Ibiza

Last night was a big event in the Ibiza art scene - Urban in Ibiza, held at the wonderful Atzaro. Like a mini festival with street art, fashion and music and the best bit for me live painting (although the smell of spray paints is not my favourite!)

This was a stunning artwork and I love the contrast against the beautiful vegetable gardens.

Peace and Love from Ibiza

Feeling inspired by all the peace and love on this island I have incorporated some funky peace signs into my new collections.

The cushion has a handfelted rainbow peace sign appliqued onto some disco felt.

 Felt, feathers and peace in these statement earrings.

These felt pendants are like mini works of art.

Bezel trays are such a great way to show off these mini peace signs which are made from wetfelting and needle felting - more of these to come another day!!

The world needs some more peace : )

Cloud Pillows

 Hola, It's been a while again hasn't it!! Well I've been busy working on lots of new stuff and trying to survive the crazy summer heat. Ironically I have designed this cloud pillow, they are most definitely the only clouds around here at the moment!!!

These are the first 2 from the collection, one made completely with handmade felt and trimmed with silver tassle trim. The other is made from a upcycled felted wool jumper and trimmed with pink pom pom trim. I am so in love with these cute little pillows and can't wait to make some more.

The Rainbow Room at Healing Ibiza 2013

I was very lucky to have a stall at Healing Ibiza, one of my favourite days in Ibiza!

It's such a magical day for Ibiza to gather together and open their hearts and minds to new ways of thinking and being with inspiring talks and workshops. Meditation, yoga, singing , dancing, live music and a wonderful area for children all set in the very beautiful Atzaro Agroturismo.

 Such a fantastic entrance with a rainbow of flags!

 Lovely signs with positive affirmations were dotted around.

 Definitely the only clouds and rain of the day.
